The reader is offered a detailed presentation of the Markandeya Purana, an ancient Indian religious monument. This presentation is based on several translations of the Markandeya Purana from Sanskrit into English, as well as brief paraphrases. Translations of “Devi-Mahatmya” made by A.A. were used from Russian-language sources. Ignatiev and D.M. Ragosa. The monograph by D.P. was a great help. Sakharov "Mythological narration in the Sanskrit Puranas." This work is called “Detailed presentation”, since it does not pretend to be a literal translation, but in terms of the number of chapters and total volume it is as close as possible to the original.
