This book includes 48 articles by I. Ehrenburg from periodicals, mainly Moscow, Kyiv and Petrograd, which were not included in the collected works and collections of the writer and have not been reproduced for over seventy years. The book reflects the mood of most of the Russian intelligentsia during the years of the revolution and civil war, showing the foresight of many of its representatives. “The first two years (after the revolution - A.R.) ... I shared the views of the 'defensists' and 'patriots', wrote counter-revolutionary poems and feuilletons.”
