Born to Run is an epic adventure that began with a simple question: “Why does my leg hurt?” For an answer, the author of the book, popular American journalist and running enthusiast Christopher McDougle, went to a tribe of runners known for their endurance - the Tarahumara (Rarámuri). By observing “those with light feet” and adopting their centuries-old experience, the author shows us what we are doing “wrong.” Isolated in the wildest areas of North America, the Tarahumara Indians are the custodians of the art of running, lost by modern man. For centuries, the Tarahumara have practiced methods that allow them to run hundreds of miles without rest, enjoying every mile - be it deer hunting or running a marathon. With the help of Caballo Blanco, a mysterious loner who lives in close communication with the tribe, the author was able to not only reveal secrets of the “running people”, but also to find the inner reserves in yourself to prepare for the 50-mile race through the heart of the Tarahumara country and among them.
