Alas, history was not always changed with a plus sign; it also had its own anti-heroes... The defeat of Germany in the First World War gave rise to the growth of nationalist sentiments in the country. The terms of the Treaty of Versailles, designed to exclude the defeated country from the list of great powers, offended the former front-line soldiers and aroused in them contempt for the politicians who dared to sign such a humiliating treaty. Thus was born fertile soil for the development of the Nazi movement. Its leader Adolf Hitler (1889-1945) insisted on the superiority of the German nation, supposedly a direct descendant of the ancient Indo-Europeans - the Aryans. In his opinion, “inferior” peoples - especially Gypsies, Jews and Slavs - either have no right to exist at all, or are obliged to serve the descendants of the “pure race”. Having come to power, Hitler began to put his delusional ideas into practice and for this he started the Second World War. The attempt to create a new world order failed, but the memory of the millions who fell and were tortured in concentration camps made the words “Hitler”, “war” and “death” almost synonymous for those who survived that terrible era. “I will build a utopia on the ruins of the old world,” said Hitler. The dream of creating an empire ran like a red thread through his entire life. This dream turned into the self-destruction of the old Germany. But a new world arose on its ruins.
