Less than a year has passed since Tomek Vilmovsky sets off on an expedition again! The young traveler, in the company of his father Andrzej Wilmowski, trapper Jan Smuha, boatswain Tadeusz Nowicki and his faithful dog Dingo, heads for Africa - a country full of contrasts, where pygmies, the smallest people in the world, live side by side with elephants. This time, Hagenbeck's company, which is engaged in catching wild animals for zoos, set travelers a very difficult task - to catch gorillas and okapi. But the existence of the latter is not known for certain. Serious challenges await brave hunters on the Dark Continent. Local tribes do not favor strangers at all, and the mysterious jungle is fraught with many dangers: poisonous snakes, ferocious lions, insidious crocodiles... You just have to gape and remember their name. But the brave Tomek doesn’t care, because exciting adventures are worth the risk! More than one generation of young book lovers has grown up on the stories about the fearless Tomek Wilmowski, written by the Polish writer Alfred Shklarski. Here is the second novel from this series - “Tomek on the Dark Continent”, the translation of which has been newly verified and supplemented with interesting and educational popular science references. Wonderful illustrations for the book were created by the artist Vladimir Kanivets.
