The book contains archival documents: operational reports on the combat operations of troops and units on the territory of the Tula region, combat orders, etc., not only from units of the Red Army, but also captured documents of the German army, as well as reports from the Sovinformburo and front-line notes from newspapers of that time, arranged in chronological order. The book allows the reader to comprehensively assess the situation of a single day of the war or the entire period as a whole. Residents of the districts of the Tula region, using documents, can reconstruct the real picture of military operations in the territory of their district, a separate settlement, and even reconstruct the events of a particular day of the war in their localities. Separate chapters present collections of documents and memories of soldiers of units that fought on the territory of the Tula region: air defense troops, aviation units and formations, 31 cavalry divisions, 32 tank brigades, 112 tank divisions and 702 anti-tank artillery regiments, 239 rifle divisions. An interesting set of memories “They listened to Stalin." Completely different people told how Stalin’s report on November 7, 1941 impressed them, how he inspired them to further struggle and hard work in the name of Victory. The book includes a selection of documents about the atrocities of the German occupiers on the Tula land. Particularly egregious was the fact when the Nazis drove the entire male population of the village of Prudnoye into a barn and burned them alive. In the future, it is planned to continue publishing collections of documents in chronological order until the end of December 1941, as well as reward orders for battles and victories on Tula land.
