The book contains the oldest local history materials about the city of Tula and the Tula people, written by Nikolai Fedorovich Andreev in the middle of the 19th century. He described interesting episodes from the history of our city and its inhabitants. It tells about the visit of our city by Empress Catherine II and Field Marshal Prince G.A. Potemkin presents many interesting facts from the cultural life of Tula, now almost forgotten. His research article on Vyatichi deserves special attention.
