The book is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the battle of Tula, but it begins with the story “The Order” about our fellow countryman, a soldier who fought in the infantry from the first day, retreated from the border, defended Leningrad for all 900 days, and then drove the Germans and finished them off in Courland after the war. The book contains archival documents: Operational reports on combat operations of troops and units, Combat orders, etc., not only of units of the Red Army, but also captured documents of the German army, as well as reports of the Sovinformburo and front-line notes from newspapers of that time, placed in chronological order ok. A separate chapter contains a selection of documents on the Tula Workers' Regiment, first of all, it covers the period after December 21, 1941, when our regiment under the command of Lieutenant Colonel V.M. Baranov left to storm the city of Kaluga, which he broke into first and captured the railway station. In the documents there are many names of TRP fighters of the first formation, as well as a list of names up to the squad commanders on January 2, 1942. The chapter “War and People” is dedicated to the Hero of the Soviet Union I.Ya. Kravchenko and V.A. Bentzel - active participants in the defense of Tula with the first days and then served in the Tula workers' regiment and their comrades. From the articles in the chapter “Tula Youth in the Fight against the Enemy” you will learn many interesting and sometimes tragic facts about the struggle of Tula youth against the occupiers. In the chapter “Awards and Feats” you will become familiar with the orders for rewarding soldiers and commanders who distinguished themselves in the battles for Tula and award sheets with a brief description of their exploits, each of which is worthy of a separate story. The book contains previously unknown schemes for the defense of Tula. The book contains memoirs of soldiers who fought for Tula and eyewitnesses.
