Francis Scott Kay Fitzgerald's collection of short prose "Tender Young Men" includes two books of short stories, compiled by Fitzgerald himself after the release of the novel "The Great Gatsby" and before he began working in Hollywood. This is Fitzgerald of the period of maturity, who has already lost his youthful illusions, but has acquired skill and refinement of style. In addition to the stories selected by Fitzgerald himself and representing a collection of the best short stories written by him in that period, the collection also includes texts that were not included in the author’s collections. Thus, the book fully presents both the nostalgic cycles of stories about Basil and Josephine, and the “commercial” cycle of stories about the doctor Bill Tulliver. The texts are published in new authentic translations that adequately reflect the brilliance and grace of the style of the “mature” Francis Scott Kay Fitzgerald.
