English collection of short prose by Vladimir Nabokov (1899-1977), published by the writer’s son in 1995); well known in the West. However, in Russian, in which 11abokov wrote most of his stories, the book was not published for a long time. Thanks to many years of work by researchers, the volume compiled by Dmitry Nabokov was replenished with new works, as a result of which by 2008, under one cover, it was possible to collect over sixty stories written by Nabokov in the years 1920-1951 in European emigration and in America. In addition to well-known works, this complete collection of stories contains rare early works, as well as forewords and notes by Nabokov from English collections. The Appendix contains essays that were not included in previous collections of stories. The publication is equipped with a preface and notes by D. Nabokov; the reader will also find a significant body of information in the comments of the editor and compiler of the collection, Andrei Babikov. The English stories are published in translation by Gennady Barabtarlo, prepared with the participation of Vera Nabokova. The translator's spelling, punctuation and transliteration features are preserved. The publishing layout of the book is preserved in PDF A4 format.
