The new book by V. K. Shokhin, a famous Russian Indologist and philosopher of religion, one of the leading Russian experts in the field of philosophy of religion, can be considered as the final part of a trilogy on philosophical theology (previous monographs: “Philosophical Theology: Design Facets.” M ., 2016 and “Philosophical theology: canon and variability”. This time the reader has in his hands a collection of essayistic texts distributed in several sections. The “Methodology” section includes texts devoted to the relationship of philosophical theology with other formats of rational theology (analytical philosophy of religion, natural theology, fundamental theology) and understanding the boundaries of the competencies of reason in Christian faith. The Systematics already offers an understanding of the boundaries of theism, justifications for the existence of God, the attribute of Divine timelessness, interpretations of Revelation, definitions of Christian dogmas, the dogma of the Atonement, as well as the problem of evil and theodicy. The Polemic contains critical essays on atheism, antitheism, and today's (now quasi-Christian) theology of political correctness. The book ends with texts on “Comparative Studies”, which comprehend the phenomenon of religious fundamentalism, the concept of “dialogue of religions”, as well as the possibility of apologetic reception of those elements of philosophical theology that are contained in the heritage of Indian spiritual culture. The book is intended for teachers and students of theology, researchers of the philosophy of religion , as well as those studying the philosophies of South Asia.
