The book, prepared for publication by the famous poet and translator V. Betaki, includes the best poems by Rudyard Kipling, collected from all his books, in the most successful poetic translations. Many translations included in the book are taken from the first Russian edition of Kipling's poems (M., 1936), which has long become a bibliographic rarity. A number of translations by G. Behn and V. Betaki are published based on a Parisian book from 1986, which has also become a bibliographic rarity. Some poems are presented in two or three translations. The book contains both very old translations, long loved by the Russian reader, and quite a lot of completely new ones. Many poems that have never been translated into Russian are presented in this book for the first time.
