The fourth volume of A. Averchenko’s works includes collections of works first published in 1914–1917: “Weeds” (1914), “Notes of a Theater Rat”, “Wolf Pits”, “Naughty People and Rogues” (1915) , “Gilded Pills” (1916), “About the Little Ones for the Big Ones” (1916), “Blue and Gold” (1917). A bright satirical book “Weeds”, published by the author under the pseudonym Foma Opiskin in 1914, since then has not been reprinted for a while. The stories and feuilletons included in this volume have not lost their relevance and are of interest to the modern reader.
