The fourth volume of A. Averchenko’s works includes collections of works first published in 1914–1917: “Weeds” (1914), “Notes of a Theater Rat”, “Wolf Pits”, “Naughty People and Rogues” (1915) , “Gilded Pills” (1916), “About the Little Ones for the Big Ones” (1916), “Blue and Gold” (1917). A bright satirical book “Weeds”, published by the author under the pseudonym Foma Opiskin in 1914, since then has not been reprinted for a while. The stories and feuilletons included in this volume have not lost their relevance and are of interest to the modern reader. The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
