Arkady Averchenko (1881–1925) is a wonderful Russian humorist writer, whose true skill immediately captivated his contemporaries, who, not by chance, awarded him the titles of “King of Laughter” and “Knight of Smiles.” The writer Averchenko describes an anecdotal situation, exaggerating it and bringing it to the point of complete absurdity, and gives the reader a healthy, cleansing laugh.
