Averchenko Arkady Timofeevich (1881–1925) – Russian writer, journalist, editor of the magazine “Satyricon”, one of the most famous satirists of the early 20th century. The book includes the author’s collection “Black and White”. Averchenko paints in it a wonderful gallery of images of Russian life. The images are sharp and funny, sometimes ridiculous, sometimes evoking sympathy, but always bright, superbly presented by the author’s talent.
