Fate was not too kind to Dorotka Pawlakowska. Her mother died in childbirth, and her father, having given his daughter his last name, considered his father’s duty fulfilled and was not interested in a more dear child. So Dorotka was raised by aunties, three of them, and all of them were real harpies. They watched every step, took away every zloty she earned, kept the girl on errands - all you could hear was: give it, bring it. In general, it’s like a modern Cinderella. It’s good that Dorotka had a gentle character. But sometimes melancholy overcame me: what kind of life is this? And then suddenly a letter from America: a certain Wanda Parker, godmother of Dorotka’s mother and seemingly a millionaire, having lived for half a century in the States, intended to return to her homeland. But she has no relatives in Poland, the only close people are Dorotka and her aunts. It’s clear that the harpies were not happy about the old woman’s visit; in addition, she turned out to have quirks. One small consolation is that the millionaire immediately upon arrival made a will, delegating her wealth to them. True, the granny is in good health, but...
And then suddenly - barely having made a will, the old woman dies. Moreover, as it soon became clear, not by his own death. What do you think is the first question of investigation in such cases? That's right: who benefits from this?
In general, “everyone is a suspect.”
