Garry Kasparov’s new project “Modern Chess” is a continuation of his unique five-volume work “My Great Predecessors” (“RIPOL Classic”, 2003-2006). Summarizing the development of chess in the 20th century, the author talks about the opening revolution of the 70s - early 80s, all his fights with Anatoly Karpov, comments on his best games and matches with computers. This volume is the first of three dedicated to the historical single combat between Kasparov and Karpov - includes two matches between them for the world chess crown (1984/85 and 1985).
