The book is the third and final part of the “Homo sacer” trilogy. Following the discussion of the concepts of Sovereign Power and the State of Emergency presented in the first two books, the third book is devoted to what concerns the ethical and political significance of destruction. Giorgio Agamben (b. 1942) is an eminent Italian philosopher, author of works on political and moral philosophy, professor University of Venice IUAV, European School of Postgraduate Studies, International College of Philosophy in Paris and the University of Maserata (Italy), as well as visiting professor at several American universities.
