Kenji Miyazawa (1896–1933) is not only the most beloved in his homeland, but also perhaps the most mysterious Japanese writer of modern times. Agronomist, school teacher - he. it seems that he did not consider himself a professional writer. During his lifetime, Miyazawa published only two small books, and even then at his own expense. A deeply religious Buddhist, he, in accordance with the “Lotus Sutra” he revered, determined the goal of his life to help all living beings. “Bodhisattva Kenji”, “Saint Kenji” - that’s what he was called in his homeland - all his life he worked in the fields and taught children. But after his death, a huge number of wonderful poems and fairy tales were discovered, which amounted to eighteen volumes of his complete works. The grateful readers finally discovered the bright and mysterious world of the writer, where the wind, stars and stones breathe and talk to each other - a world full of life and happiness. Miyazawa tried to share this happiness with people, and the book you are now holding in your hands is the most convincing proof that he achieved his goal. It is published in Russian for the first time.
