On March 23, 1961, in London, in the famous Old Bailey criminal court, the trial of the “Portland case” ended, the main character of which was the major Canadian businessman Gordon Lonsdale, who received the title “Sir” from the Queen of Great Britain. The name of this man did not leave the front pages of English and American newspapers. But only many years later it became known that the illegal Soviet intelligence officer Colonel Konon Trofimovich Molody worked in England under this name. This was one of the most effective units of Soviet foreign intelligence, which successfully obtained secret political, scientific, technical and military-strategic information in the most important institutions of England and US military bases located on its territory. This book tells about the life and operational path of the legendary Soviet illegal intelligence officer, about his colleagues in intelligence activities.
