A documentary story about an outstanding Soviet professional intelligence officer, whose name was surrounded by legends among the KGB in the 1920s and 1930s. In intelligence he went from an illegal operative and resident behind the cordon to the creator and head of an independent special illegal unit that was active almost all over the world. His activities were always accompanied by a high level of secrecy. Suffice it to say that for the first time materials about the unique intelligence operations he carried out appeared in domestic and foreign literature only in the early 1990s, that is, almost 50 years after his death.
