This small book presents two authors who are practically unknown even to experienced detective prose connoisseurs. These are Ernest William Hornung and Dorothy Sayers. E. W. Hornung enjoyed the favorable attention of readers at the beginning of the 20th century thanks to the series about the adventures of Raffles, a handsome gentleman thief. D. Sayers contributed to the development of the detective genre by enriching the gallery of Great Detectives with a colorful portrait of Lord Peter Wimsey, an amateur detective reminiscent of the unforgettable Sherlock Holmes.
