“The comedy “Much Ado About Nothing” was first published in 1600. Meares's treatise "Palladis Tamia", published two years earlier, does not mention this play in its famous list of Shakespeare's works. The only reason for such an omission could be the fact that this comedy was not yet known to the public in 1598. Shakespeare wrote Much Ado About Nothing in this manner between 1598 and 1599. This date will be useful to us both for understanding the entire play in general, and for analyzing the characters of the main characters...”
