The essay for the stage by the Austrian writer and playwright, Nobel Prize winner Elfriede Jelinek was written in the spirit and on the material of Richard Wagner’s opera tetralogy “The Ring of the Nibelung”. In her characteristic manner, Jelinek confronts the classical plot with the realities of modern Europe, and the poetic language of Wagner with the maxims of Marx and the reality of everyday language.

Книга "Чисто рейнське ЗОЛОТО" є справжнім шедевром, який вражає своєю глибиною та оригінальністю. Ельфріда Єлінек, як завжди, майстерно зіштовхує класичний сюжет оперної тетралогії Ріхарда Вагнера з реаліями сучасної Європи, створюючи унікальний текст, що змушує задуматися над важливими соціальними та культурними питаннями. Її поетична мова вражає, а інтеграція сентенцій Маркса додає нових відтінків до вже знайомих тем. Хоча переклад, виконаний за допомогою штучного інтелекту, має деякі недоліки, це не зменшує загального враження від твору. Я б рекомендувала цю книгу всім, хто цінує літературу, що спонукає до роздумів і відкриває нові горизонти в сприйнятті класичних творів.
