"1984" is a kind of antipode to the second great dystopia of the 20th century - "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley. What, in essence, is more terrible: a “consumer society” taken to the point of absurdity or a “society of ideas” taken to the absolute? According to Orwell, there is and cannot be anything more terrible than total lack of freedom... “Animal Farm” is a parable full of humor and sarcasm. Can a humble farm become a symbol of a totalitarian society? Of course yes. But... how will its “citizens” - animals doomed to slaughter - see this society? The book also includes essays from different years - “Literature and Totalitarianism”, “Writers and Leviathan”, “Notes on Nationalism” and others.

Книга «1984» та «Скотний двір» – це не просто літературні твори, а справжні філософські трактати, які ставлять під сумнів основи нашого суспільства. Джордж Оруелл майстерно створює світ, де тоталітаризм досягає свого апогею, змушуючи читача замислитися над питаннями влади, контролю та індивідуальної свободи. «Скотний двір» вражає своєю простотою і водночас глибиною, адже через призму тварин автор показує, як легко можна маніпулювати масами та як швидко ідеали можуть перетворитися на жорстокість. Есе, що супроводжують основний текст, доповнюють картину і розширюють розуміння теми тоталітаризму та його наслідків. Хоча переклад тексту, виконаний за допомогою штучного інтелекту, має свої недоліки, загальна суть і сила Оруелла залишаються незмінними.
