The legend of Russian satire and subtle humor, an employee of the famous “Satyricon”, a man with impeccable taste - Sasha Cherny (A. M. Glikberg, 1880–1932) lived a not very long, but very eventful life, which included a lot. And unheard of fame and popularity (according to contemporaries, “there was no such student, such a student, such a doctor, lawyer, teacher, engineer who did not know his poems by heart”), and the First World War, where he volunteered and participated in battles (he died as a real soldier and poet - saving people during a fire), and the revolution, which he categorically did not accept, and many years of wandering along the roads of emigration. But in any circumstances, Sasha Cherny always remained a real poet - vigilant, ironic, sincere. That is why his poems have survived to this day and are now read as if they were written by our contemporary. V. Nabokov accurately noticed this: “Only a few books and a quiet, charming shadow remain from him.” This book presents all the facets of the work of this unique poet, who amazingly combined in his poems merciless, caustic satire with genuine, exquisite lyricism. p>
