A novel about the fate of Adolf Hitler’s personal clairvoyant, who found himself in the midst of political games.
The novel was written by Feuchtwanger in America and first published in English translation in 1943 by The Viking Press under the title “Double, double, toil and trouble" (lyrics of the chorus of the witches' song from Shakespeare's Macbeth). In the manuscript the novel was called "The Miracle Worker", but already in the first German edition, published in 1944 in London (Hamilton Publishing House), the book bears the title "The Lautensack Brothers". In Russian translation, the novel appeared in the magazine “Foreign Literature” NN 1-3 for 1957.
The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.

Роман "Брати Лаутензак" є надзвичайно потужним твором, який занурює читача в складний світ політичних інтриг та особистих амбіцій. Фейхтвангер майстерно поєднує історичні факти з вигаданими елементами, створюючи напружену атмосферу, яка змушує задуматися про моральні аспекти влади та впливу. Ясновидець Адольф Гітлер, зображений у книзі, стає символом не лише політичних маніпуляцій, а й глибинних страхів і спокус, які можуть підштовхнути людину до жахливих вчинків. Хоча роман написаний у 1943 році, його теми залишаються актуальними й сьогодні, що робить його важливим читанням для всіх, хто цікавиться історією та психологією влади. Переклад, хоч і має деякі недоліки, не заважає загальному сприйняттю твору, і я б рекомендував його всім, хто прагне зрозуміти складність людської природи в умовах політичного хаосу.
