Том 2" автор майстерно переплітає життя людей з різних соціальних верств, показуючи, як їхні долі взаємопов'язані в цьому величному, але жорстокому місті. Сюжет захоплює з перших сторінок, а персонажі, хоч і вигадані, здаються надзвичайно реальними завдяки глибокій психології та емоційним переживанням. Читач відчуває себе частиною їхніх переживань, їхніх радощів і трагедій.
