Ця книга стала для мене справжнім відкриттям! Автор майстерно переносить читача в атмосферу стародавнього Риму, де повсякденне життя жителів імперії виявляється настільки близьким і зрозумілим для сучасної людини. Я відчув, ніби сам опинився на вулицях Риму 115 року нашої ери, стикнувшись з усіма тими ж проблемами, що й наші сучасники: пробки, соціальні нерівності та навіть політичні інтриги. Описані моменти, як-от відвідування Колізею, розкішних терм і званих вечерь, настільки живі, що я відчував, як смакую вишукані страви і слухаю розмови про любов та політику. Хоча переклад тексту іноді має недоліки, це не заважає загальному враженню від читання. Рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто цікавиться історією та культурою, адже вона відкриває нові горизонти розуміння нашого минулого!
