This story could have happened anywhere, and its hero could have been anyone. Because toughness, meanness and callousness have no geographical coordinates, names or nationalities. An incident occurs on the Dog Archipelago: three corpses wash up on the shore. Three black men, probably illegal migrants, drowned before reaching the desired land, where they expected to find a tolerable life. Influential people of the island decide to get rid of the corpses by throwing them into the crater of the volcano: no one is interested in the investigation, especially those who make money from the unfortunate illegal immigrants. But, as always, in the crowd of cruel and indifferent people there is someone who longs for justice. And, as always, he is doomed. But there is a higher court - it will not allow those who are responsible for the death of others to live in peace. The island turns into the city described “in one Russian novel”: a dead city turned into a Zone. A city to which life will never return.
