This book, published after the death of the great writer, is a successful and original attempt to present to the reader the diversity of Heller - not only a novelist, but also an author of “small” forms. The collection includes the writer’s famous early stories (“The Girl from Greenwich”, “A Man Called Flute,” “The World Is Full of Famous Cities”) and never-before-published literary and philosophical essays and “minor” works, plotted and thematically related to Heller’s opus magnum, “Catch-22,” and subsequently, in modified form included in the novel.
The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
