Two volumes present all the historical novels of the remarkable Polish prose writer, Nobel Prize winner Henryk Sienkiewicz. The first volume includes the following works: “Kamo Coming” - a novel that describes the struggle of early Christians against the despotism of Nero, the novel “Bearers of the Sword”, more known as "The Crusaders", which is published in a rarely published translation by Vl. Khodasevich, dedicated to the struggle of the Poles and Lithuanians with the Teutonic Order at the end of the 14th - beginning of the 15th century, and the novel “With Fire and Sword,” which tells about the struggle of the gentry of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth with Ukraine during the time of Bogdan Khmelnitsky, the first novel in the trilogy “With Fire and Sword,” “ The Flood", "Pan Volodyevsky". A novel in three parts from the era of Nero.

Ця книга - справжній шедевр, який переносить читача в епоху боротьби поляків та литовців з Тевтонським орденом, а також у часи Богдана Хмельницького. Генрік Сенкевич вміло поєднує історичні факти з захоплюючими сюжетами, створюючи яскраві образи героїв, які залишаються в пам'яті надовго. Переклад, виконаний В. Ахрамовичем, хоч і має деякі недоліки, все ж передає дух оригіналу та дозволяє насолодитися глибиною і красою мови. Читання цієї книги - це не лише можливість дізнатися більше про історію, але й зануритися в світ емоцій, боротьби та відваги. Рекомендую всім, хто любить історичну прозу та бажає відчути атмосферу минулих епох!
