The great Chinese poet Li Bo (8th century) is usually perceived as a poet of civic, heroic-romantic, sublime tonality. However, his “soft, gentle” poetry, as defined by the prominent 12th century scholar Zhu Xi, constitutes an equally significant, although less studied, part of the poet’s heritage. It has a kind of “diary” character, expresses first of all the movements of the poet’s soul, and therefore is much more subjective, personal, and individual. Worldview-wise, such poetry gravitated toward the Taoist-Buddhist view of the world, which denies civilization and glorifies unclouded Nature as an example of external and internal (spiritual) Purity. The book consists of two parts - poetic and analytical. The first part contains translations of more than a hundred landscape poems, mostly not previously translated into Russian, and is commented on with an explanation of topo-historical realities. The second part of the book contains three analytical articles exploring the phenomenon of landscape poetry in China. The book is intended for both amateurs , as well as for researchers of poetry and the East.

The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
