An epistolary conversation between two writers very different in age, time of entry into literature and degree of fame, despite all the outward secularity of tone, is full of confidence. In the letters every now and then they talk, as Gippius puts it, about “the most important things”; they discuss their own poems and the work of friends, the collections of the “Green Lamp”, emigrant and pre-revolutionary periodicals. Detailed notes complement the picture of the turbulent life of the pre-war emigration. Preparation of the text, introductory article and comments by N.A. Bogomolov. From the book Diaspora: New materials. Issue III. St. Petersburg, 2002. pp. 435–535.
