This translation is closer to the author's text than Yu. Estrin's translation. Here the main character and heroine do not look like such bloodthirsty monsters when they “organize” the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, because they thereby save the human race from extinction. From extinction as a species, and not just from the inability of humanity to make interstellar flights. This is the main difference. In addition, some “inaccuracies” that spoil the impression of the book have been corrected. In order not to be unfounded, I will give an example: Chapter 1. The action takes place in the 2456th Century. The heroes watch on the screen an image of spaceships located in the future, twenty-five centuries distant from the present (“The second image is twenty-five Centuries distant from the first”) and suddenly it says: “Electrogravity,” Voy answered dryly. “In the entire history of mankind, it was only in 2871 that electrogravitational spaceships were created.” It’s not clear where this number came from. Asimov’s arithmetic is fine: “Electro-gravitic,” said Voy. “The 2481st is the only Century to develop electro-gravitic space-travel”
