The outstanding English prose writer Joseph Conrad (1857–1924) wrote about thirty books about his sea travels and adventures. A neo-romanticist, a master of psychological prose, he recreated the adventure genre in his own way and had a huge influence on the literature of the 20th century. Among his students are Hemingway, Faulkner, Graham Greene, Paustovsky. The second volume of his Works includes the novels “Jump Overboard” and “The End of Slavery,” as well as the best sea stories and short stories.
