The outstanding English prose writer Joseph Conrad (1857–1924) wrote about thirty books about his sea travels and adventures. A neo-romanticist, a master of psychological prose, he recreated the adventure genre in his own way and had a huge influence on the literature of the 20th century. Among his students are Hemingway, Faulkner, Graham Greene, Paustovsky. The third volume of his works includes the story “Duel”; novels “Victory” and “On the Shallows.”
