Offering readers a collection of biographical essays about the heads of foreign intelligence of the state security agencies of our country during the Soviet period, we would like to share some memories of these people, their military comrades-in-arms, to tell what they were like as individuals. In our time, it is the time of subversives of various stripes who claim to know the ultimate truth, handing out critical assessments left and right to past and present leaders, this is important for understanding the history of our state security agencies, and, consequently, the history of the state as a whole.
