The autobiographical collection of stories “Mother's Saturdays” (1955) by the remarkable prose writer, poet and journalist Chaim Grade (1910–1982) is a reliable, lyrical and at the same time terrible portrait of time and human fate. The author depicts the life of Jewish Vilna before the war and its life-and-death after the Holocaust, trying to answer the question of how the sun can shine after that.

Незважаючи на деякі недоліки в перекладі, які можуть відволікати, загальна атмосфера твору та його зміст залишають глибокий слід у серці читача. Рекомендую всім, хто хоче зрозуміти, як важливо пам'ятати про минуле і цінувати кожен момент життя.
