Soviet-Finnish war, winter 1939. On one of the islands of the Åland archipelago, the Finns organized a camp for captured Red Army soldiers. The island is tiny, surrounded by the icy Baltic Sea, and escape is almost impossible. But for those who thirst for freedom there are no barriers. A group of captured Soviet officers develops a daring escape plan. They manage to escape from the camp, capture a fishing boat and go out to the open sea. However, the path to freedom is only just beginning: the front is hundreds of nautical miles away, and the pursuers-overseers are hanging on their tail, who are ordered to return the fugitives back to the camp at any cost...
