Nahum Sindalovsky's new book continues his research into St. Petersburg folklore. However, before proceeding to the folklore itself with a Finnish-Swedish accent, the author talks about the history of Ingria, on whose territory St. Petersburg was founded. Tracing the deep connections of the Slavs, Finns, Izhorians and Swedes who lived nearby since ancient times, the author shows how many legends, myths, proverbs and sayings that have become close to us have their roots in the languages of the indigenous peoples of the Neva Lowland. The book is well illustrated and intended for a wide range of readers.
