For the first time in Russian historiography, extensive documentary material is used to examine the history of the creation and formation of the two highest emergency bodies of Soviet Russia - the Revolutionary Military Council of the Republic and the Council of Workers' and Peasants' Defense in 1918–1920. Their evolution, interaction, as well as “friction” and conflicts between them are revealed in detail in the context of what unfolded after V.I.’s injury. Автор, на основі великого обсягу документального матеріалу, детально розглядає еволюцію Революційної військової ради та Ради робітничої і селянської Оборони, що дозволяє читачеві зрозуміти складні відносини між ключовими фігурами більшовиків, такими як Ленін, Троцький та Сталін. Особливо вражає аналіз конфліктів і тертя між цими органами влади, що підкреслює політичну напругу того часу. Книга не лише розкриває історичні факти, але й пропонує новий погляд на військову опозицію та дискусії, що мали місце на VIII з'їзді РКП(б). Це видання стане корисним не лише для професійних істориків, але й для студентів та всіх, хто прагне глибше зрозуміти складну історію радянської державності.
