The book is dedicated to one of the most mysterious episodes of Soviet history - the “case” of a conspiracy at the Field Headquarters (Red Headquarters) of the Revolutionary Military Council of the Republic. At the beginning of July 1919, the Special Department of the Cheka, on charges of “participating in a conspiratorial counter-revolutionary organization and preparing a coup,” arrested the current Commander-in-Chief of all the armed forces of the Republic, former colonel of the tsarist army I.I. Vatsetis. His closest associates were also arrested. One of the first “bulldog fights under the carpet” took place with the live participation of Lenin and Trotsky.
