M. Pavic's novel The Inside Side of the Wind (1991) was recognized as the novel of the year in Yugoslavia and was translated into ten languages. After a novel in the form of a dictionary (Khazar Dictionary) and a crossword novel (Landscape Painted with Tea), Pavić continued the experiment by creating a novel in the form of a clepsydra. The heroes of the fascinating story, Hero and Leander, literally meet in the middle of the book. The reader can start reading this volume from any side, because it was written by the author according to the principle “in my beginning is my end.”
The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
