The outstanding Serbian writer Milorad Pavic, the creator of the so-called non-linear prose of the third millennium, the author of the famous “Khazar Dictionary”, is well known to the Russian reader. His new novel “Paper Theater” is a unique portrait of a story. Thirty-eight stories written on behalf of thirty-eight authors, each of whom represents some national literature. And the writers themselves and information about them, of course, were invented by Milorad Pavic. Thus, all this diversity of plots and styles is united by the cross-cutting theme of the novel and the personality of the author, whose imagination truly knows no bounds.
