Walker Easterling, a former actor and now screenwriter, lives in Vienna. He meets Maris York, a former model and now an artist. They want to get married. But why does a short, bearded man on a bicycle, looking like a gnome from the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm, call out to him: “Rednaskela”? Why does Walker dream that in pre-revolutionary Russia he was a murderous maniac? Why does he get into an altercation with two old women in the “dolphin” language? The Californian shaman Venask promises to help Walker figure this out (and at the same time teach him to fly). Venask still doesn’t understand what he’s gotten himself into.
