The legendary novel by the master of magical realism, a worthy successor to the traditions of both his famous namesake and Richard Bach; however, Carroll does not like to be compared to Vonnegut or Douglas Adams, preferring comparisons with Hesse, Marquez and other, as he puts it, authors of “fairy tales for adults.” Meet Cullson James. She lives in Manhattan and loves her husband and daughter. Her dreams are dictated by her life - but at some point life itself begins to be dictated by her dreams.

(back cover)This is a book that you literally cannot put down. “The Bones of the Moon” envelops you like a soft feather bed after a hard day, and you, lulled to sleep, suddenly realize that you are unable to lift a finger: iron jaws have grown from the mattress and are beginning to close. Stephen King

Partly a novel Carroll is similar to the works of Stephen King... but without the dark psychedelia of the author of The Dark Tower. Excellent reading, witty, light, suitable for both the subway and a quiet evening at home. Recommended to everyone who is not mired in hopeless snobbery. “Foreigner”

The beauty of the novel lies not so much even in its fantasy part... but in the description of the joys of normal, most this-worldly reality. Rarely do any modern authors manage to describe a truly healthy, attractive, balanced individual, but Jonathan Carroll succeeded. This is the heroine's husband. Their first night, their life in Italy, their trips to their parents, breakfasts in the small kitchen - everything breathes life. Jonathan Carroll has succeeded in converting the generosity of life into the generosity of text. Mysticism can be considered as a seasoning for this dish made from a simple natural product. The construction of the plot is most reminiscent of Stephen King’s “The Dark Tower” series... For my taste, Carroll writes more interestingly, prominently and more harshly than King. “Bones of the Moon” is read in one sitting, while to overcome the multi-volume adventures of King’s heroes requires remarkable perseverance. But the main thing is different - Carroll did not waste time, he squeezed out the water and fit the remaining path to the Dark Tower and its ruler on 280 pages. This makes me incredibly happy...Sergei Krasikov (“Buttons”)

The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
