The construction of the plot is most reminiscent of Stephen King’s “The Dark Tower” series... For my taste, Carroll writes more interestingly, prominently and more harshly than King. “Bones of the Moon” is read in one sitting, while to overcome the multi-volume adventures of King’s heroes requires remarkable perseverance. But the main thing is different - Carroll did not waste time, he squeezed out the water and fit the remaining path to the Dark Tower and its ruler on 280 pages.
