In the “Signal Copy” section there are chapters from the novel “The Wheel of Painful Rebirths” by the Chinese writer Nobel Prize winner Mo Yan (1955). The author has given rise to comparisons with Marquez: the epic narrative covers fifty years of Chinese history from 1950 to 2000 and is heavily influenced by folklore. The phantasmagoria of social utopia in art also happens to awaken a similar element: take Russian classics - Platonov and Bulgakov. Translation and introduction by Igor Egorov.
