«Червоний гаолян» – це не просто роман, це справжня емоційна подорож у серце Китаю під час жорстоких часів війни. Мо Янь майстерно передає атмосферу епохи, зображуючи як героїв, так і антагоністів у їхній найгіршій і найкращій іпостасі. Книга вражає своєю жорстокістю, але водночас і глибиною людських переживань, що робить її надзвичайно актуальною навіть сьогодні. Автор не боїться показати темні сторони людської природи, і це робить роман ще більш захоплюючим. Я був вражений тим, як він майстерно переплітає особисті драми персонажів з історичними подіями, що надає твору неабиякої ваги. Переклад, хоч і має деякі недоліки, не заважає насолоджуватися цим шедевром. Рекомендую всім, хто цікавиться не лише літературою, а й культурою та історією Китаю!
